In Honduras, pregnancy related complications are the 4^th leading cause of death of women of reproductive age.  In order to reduce maternal mortality and contribute to infant survival, a grant of $10,000 has been provided to The Equilibrium Fund to initiate a reproductive health education project in Honduras. This project was implemented over 5 months between 2009 and 2010, and consisted of home visits for couples counseling, conversations via telephone, coordination with nurses from the health centers and the Honduran Family Planning Association. The project provided tubal ligations for 33 women between 23-40 years of age with between 2 and 8 children each.
